Grieg Seafood has hired Linda Purkiss as its new marketing manager for its North American sales division. Purkiss is based in Los Angeles and started her role Monday.

Purkiss joins Grieg Seafood with over 20 years of experience in sales, marketing, and brand development within the seafood industry.

Together with the rest of the sales team, she will be responsible for the Skuna Bay salmon brand and other branded and value-added products in the North American market, the company said.

Most recently she served as the marketing director with the US seafood supplier H&N Group, where she helped define the company’s marketing initiates, revamp brands and assist the sales and purchasing teams.

Purkiss has also previously held marketing and sales positions with Multiexport and Mowi, where she has worked on brand creation, development, product launch, advertising campaigns and consumer research.

Skuna Bay raises its fish in an isolated region off the coast of British Columbia's Vancouver Island. The so-called craft-raised salmon brand offers Gold River fillets as well as the up-to-16-pound Skuna Bay "Jumbo Salmon."
