Illinois-based Fortune Fish & Gourmet has named Matthew Harris its new chief procurement and supply chain officer.

In his new role, Harris will be responsible for overseeing all of the company's procurement and supply teams, the company said.

Prior to joining Fortune, Harris was vice president of purchasing at The Chef’s Warehouse, a US-based distributor of specialty food products in North America. The company carries and distributes more than 55,000 products to more than 34,000 customer locations throughout the United States and Canada.

Before working at The Chef’s Warehouse, he was the vice president of global supply chain for the Ohio-based Sandridge Food Corporation, and prior to that he spent 11 years at Gordon Food Service.

Earlier this month, John Pollock, who worked at Sysco for 16 years, was named Fortune's senior vice president of procurement.

Fortune has been on a merger and acquisition spree in recent years, with its most recent acquisition being New Jersey-based D’Artagnan, a supplier of free-range meat and all-natural organic poultry, game, foie gras, mushrooms and truffles to restaurants and retailers.
