Neil Manchester, the former head of Hendrix Genetics' aquaculture arm, is joining Scottish trout farmer Kames Fish Farming as its new managing director designate in August, and will take up the managing director position full time on Feb 1, 2022.

Manchester has more than 35 years’ experience in aquaculture.

He began his fish farming career at Kames in 1985, before moving to Landcatch in 1998 and then Hendrix Genetics in 2011.

Kames is a family-run farm growing steelhead trout in the remote waters off the west coast of Scotland.

As managing director of Aquaculture at Hendrix Genetics he was instrumental in developing the company as a global leader in the aquaculture breeding sector.

Stuart Cannon, who has been managing director of Kames since 1972, will step down from that role to become chairman.

"We are very pleased that Neil is rejoining our Kames family and we are confident that he has all the right credentials to continue our strategy, development and expansion of Kames," said Cannon.
