Former BC Salmon Farmers Association Science Advisory Council Chair Don Noakes has died.
Noakes served in his latest position between 2015 and 2019, particularly supporting science-based communications in aquaculture and salmon farming.
Noakes also held several roles with the Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada between 1985 and 2003, his last position being director of the pacific biological station and head of aquaculture.
