Scottish Quality Salmon, the standard holder for the Label Rouge certificate for Scottish Salmon, named Cameron Sutherland as business development director to grow the brand and enhance export markets.

Sutherland's background includes promoting Scottish food and drink within France, having spent four years as head of food and drink in France for Scottish Development International.

Sutherland will work on developing the sales of Label Rouge Scottish Salmon in France, one of the largest markets for the product.

Label Rouge Scottish Salmon is currently produced and exported by the Scottish Salmon Company, Mowi Scotland, Scottish Sea Farms, Loch Duart and Cooke Aquaculture.

The label is based on standards in farming techniques, feed, equipment and sites, hygiene and staff training.
