The US-based e-commerce seafood retail brand Wild Alaskan Company has hired Jennifer Keith as its director of procurement.

Keith comes to Wild Alaskan from Red Lobster, where she spent five years as the US restaurant chain's director of procurement.

Keith holds more than two decades of experience in procurement, negotiations, contracts, supply chain systems and customer relationship management in high-value regulated and non-regulated raw materials.

At Wild Alaskan she will develop and manage the procurement team, strengthen supplier relationships and strategic partnerships and source exciting new products for members, according to the company.

“I’m most excited about joining the Wild Alaskan team because of the mission of the company and its unbelievable potential to make a difference in the world," she said.

Founded in 2017 by Alaskan Arron Kallenberg, Wild Alaskan Company describes itself as the personal fishmonger to tens of thousands of consumers across the United States through its monthly, direct-to-consumer e-commerce model that sell both wild Alaska salmon and Alaska pollock, among other species.

Prior to working for Red Lobster in a procurement role, Keith was the director of commodities procurement with Darden Restaurants, which owns several major US restaurant brands including Yard House and Olive Garden.

At Darden she worked in several roles over the course of 19 years according to her LinkedIn page that have included risk analyst, financial analyst and senior buyer.

Red Lobster, formerly owned by Darden, is now being sold by private equity group Golden Gate Capital to a consortium of investors led by Thai Union Group.
