UK-based Macduff shellfish group hired Andrew Donald Brown as its new director of sustainability and public affairs on April 21, according to a Companies House update.

The company, which has been fishing for more than 130 years, is focused on four main species -- wild scallops, langoustines, crabs and whelks.

At the end of October 2015, the group was acquired by Canada’s Clearwater Seafoods, and executives said at that time the deal would greatly accelerate growth for Macduff.

With Macduff Shellfish focusing on European markets, Clearwater is utilizing the skills, experiences, and practical resources of the company to enhance its own European footprint.
