Camanchaca has appointed Jennifer Mata as its new national category sales manager, part of the company's drive to push forward a broader suite of species into North America.

For the past two years Miami, Florida-based Mata has been the company's national sales manager for shrimp but will now be responsible for mussels, langostinos, abalone, jack mackerel and Argentine red shrimp.

From 2012 to 2017, Mata was vice president of sales and operations at Florida's Legend Seafood before moving to work as an IT consultant for a year at Milner Inc.

Camanchaca plans to more than double sales of Argentine red shrimp to the North American market this year to around two million pounds, Mata told IntraFish in July.

Separately, Maria Valido has been appointed as national sales manager for salmon.

Valido has been with Camanchaca for nearly six years, beginning as marketing manager before taking a sales management role halfway through that period.

She was previously marketing director at food and beverages firm Bawls Guarana.
