Multi X, the new name for Chilean salmon supplier Multiexport, has named a new commercial manager to head up its operations, replacing longtime executive Ricardo Grunwald, who moves into a business development role.

Fernando Perez Saavedra, who left Multi X four years ago to join rival company Ventisqueros, will take on the commercial manager role.

Saavedra joined Multi X in 2012 as sales manager before taking on the commercial manager role at Ventisqueros in 2018.

He will be tasked with developing additional value-added products and branded items.

Grunwald, meanwhile, will continue to work together with the company in new business development and in an advisory role to commercial activities.

Multi X Executive President Jose Ramon Gutierrez praised Grunwald's work leading the company's commercial activities for nearly 30 years.

"A large part of the development and success of Multi X is due to the immense contribution that Ricardo has made," Gutierrez said.

During Grunwald's time at the group, the company's sales have grown by more than 20 times, he added.

Multiexport, founded 34 years ago, unveiled its new Multi X identity in September.

The company, which employs more than 2,600 people, has a processing plant in Puerto Montt and is present in five regions, 22 communes and 38 localities across Chile.
