French smoked salmon supplier Labeyrie has announced the resignation of CEO Frederick Bouisset, with two new executives taking over his post.

The company appointed Steve Lawson and Jacques Trottier as co-CEOs.

Lawson joined Labeyrie in September 2018 as administrative and financial director, while Trottier has been general manager of BU Premium & Trendy Foods since July 2018.

Lawson and Trottier have "complementary expertise" which enable the implementation of a new effective strategy, the company said.

Labeyrie Fine Foods is one of Europe's largest smoked salmon producers and parent of Lyons Seafood and Farne in the United Kingdom and Delpierre, Labeyrie and Blini in France, among others.

The company reported sales of €1 billion ($1.13 billion) in the year ending June 2018.

Last year, European private equity fund PAI partners said it plans to sell its less 50 percent stake in the France-based gourmet food company worth €572 million ($648 million), reported Les Echos Capital Finance.

PAI nabbed the stake in the company back in 2014 and will exit completely if another investor takes over the share, according to the report.
