After more than 25 years of supplying US retail and foodservice buyers with shrimp and other seafood, Dave Bennett, national sales director for Illinois-based supplier CenSea, is retiring, effective April 30.

“I am truly grateful for the relationships that I formed with my colleagues, customers and suppliers over the past 25 years,” Bennett told IntraFish.

He joined CenSea in 1994, after spending more than five years with Topco, a $14 billion (€12.8 billion) food wholesaler. Over the course of his tenure with CenSea, Bennett helped drive the company's growth, significantly bolstering its brand as well as its retail business. He also hired and trained a number of CenSea’s key salespeople.

“We thank Dave for his 25 years of service to the company and are appreciative of his many contributions,” said Joe Rosenberg, CenSea’s chief operating officer. "We wish him and his family the best in his retirement.”

What’s next for the industry veteran?

“I am going to take a few months off and enjoy the outdoors while planning the next chapter in my life," he said.

A replacement for Bennett has not yet been named.
