Nomad Foods, the parent company of Birds Eye, Findus and Iglo, appointed Eduardo Bachiega its new chief supply chain officer for the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Formerly the company's director of planning and supply chain, Bachiega has previously held senior roles at Mattel, Mead Johnson Nutrition and Unilever.

In October, Nomad Foods unveiled new contracts to secure the supply of Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) certified pangasius from Vinh Hoan, VDTG and Godaco Seafood, three of the largest suppliers globally.

The move follows work by a number of large European processors to secure whitefish alternatives, with supply chains for cod and other whitefish disrupted following the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and additional volumes from Norway, Iceland and the Faroes in tight supply.

The company reported a 35 percent increase in preliminary adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) to €153 million ($151 million) for the third quarter this year.
