Aquaculture feed giant BioMar appointed former Hendrix Genetics communications executive Marcel Huijsmans as its new marketing director for its salmon division.

The appointment coincides with BioMar's plans to launch new feed product concepts designed in collaboration with customers.

Huijsmans joins BioMar from Hendrix Genetics, where he has been director of communications and marketing for the last 12 years.

In the announcement of its second quarter earnings, BioMar said it is expecting improved volume sales for the group based on the higher prices of raw materials. The company raised its guidance to full-year revenue of about DKK 13 billion (€1.7 billion/$2.1 billion).

However, the company also reduced its EBITDA guidance to between DKK 940 million (€126.4 million/$148.4 million) and DKK 985 million (€132.4 million/$155.5 million).
