Benchmark Genetics, the global aquaculture genetics firm, named Harry Tziouvas as recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) sales manager effective Dec. 7.

Tziouvas will be responsible for strengthening the company's sales force towards land-based farming.

Prior to this position, Tziouvas served as technical sales manager for Benchmark Animal Health. He also held positions with Scottish Salmon Company as a senior biologist.

Tziouvas will be based in the Benchmark Genetics offices in Inverness, Scotland from where he will be servicing customers all over the world.

Benchmark Holdings, the firm's holding company, finally completed its restructuring process and is now looking to return to profitability in the coming year.

Net debt stood at £37.6 million (€42 million/$50.1 million) at the end of the year, down from £87.1 million (€97.4 million/$116.1 million) in 2019.

In the fourth quarter alone, the group made five divestments, including the sale of FishVet to Zoetis and the sale of its vaccine manufacturing facilities to Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult.
In August the group exited its consulting business FAI Farms as well as its joint development equine vaccine program.

At the end of September it exited its remaining companion animal vaccine portfolio.
