Agribusiness and animal nutrition firm Wilbur-Ellis has appointed Molly Hemmeter to the company's board of directors.

Hemmeter most recently served as CEO, president and board director of Landec Corporation.

At Landec, Hemmeter oversaw the acquisition of Lifecore and its expansion through organic growth.

She also led the turnaround of the food business at Landec, helping to transform the company from a commodity vegetable-based business into a natural foods company with sustainable business practices.

Hemmeter previously was vice president of global marketing and business development at Ashland Chemical and held down executive positions at two software companies.

In November Wilbur-Ellis acquired US-based feed company Rangen with the aim of opening up the aquaculture sector for the company.
