Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute (ASMI) has hired Hannah Schlosstein as its international marketing coordinator for its Asia programs.

Schlosstein, who is from Alaska, received her international relations undergraduate degree at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland.

As a graduate of the Japanese Immersion Program in Anchorage, Alaska, she was inspired to expand her international experience and worked as a language teacher in rural Japan for two years.

While in Japan, Schlosstein developed an understanding of the economics and geopolitics of other regions in East and Southeast Asia, according to ASMI.

She most recently she worked in public health, nutrition, and the expansion of food security projects in Southeast Alaska.
