Aquaculture equipment supplier Akva has hired Erlend Sodal as its new COO for its cage-based Nordic business unit.

Sodal has more than 25 years of industry experience and extensive management experience, according to Akva.

Skretting announced earlier in the week that Sodal would be leaving a role as operating director for Skretting Group and managing director of Skretting Norway and Australia.

Sodal will replace Per Andreas Hjetland, who has take on the role of chief commercial officer to focus on business development across the group with an emphasis on cage-based technology.

Sodal will start his new role with Akva on May 1.
