When it comes to salmon farming, Norway and Chile are the undisputed global leaders.

It has, of course, been this way for a long time, and there is no other country charging forward that could dethrone either from their perches at the top.

But ... the political rhetoric coming out of Chile's presidential office these days is potentially cause for concern.

Late last year, leftist Gabriel Boric became Chile's new president. But before he even took office, he was firing shots over the bow of the country's salmon farming industry.
