Young's to lose Morrisons fish counter business

Young’s Seafood is to lose its fish counter business with WM Morrison Supermarkets, as the UK retailer starts production at its own plant at the start of September 2012, sources told IntraFish.

Young’s, part of pan-European seafood giant Findus Group, has been given notice that its supply of seafood for the Morrisons in-store fish counters will finish as the retailer opens its own plant in September.

The fish counter business was part of the Morrisons supply arrangement inherited when Young’s parent Lion Capital bought Cumbrian Seafoods from administration.
