Following Thursday's meeting of a joint stakeholder group, Young's Seafood is suggesting a revised plan that would retain jobs at its Fraserburgh plant.

Up to this point the company was thinking it would have to close its factory in Scotland after the recent loss of a major salmon contract with UK retailer Sainsbury's.

However, the company is now considering maintaining production on a reduced scale at Fraserburgh and is seeking a buyer for Grantown on Spey.

Scotland's business minister Fergus Ewing welcomed the "significant" new plans for Young’s Seafood sites at Fraserburgh and Grantown on Spey.

"The
