"There has to be a stop put to adding more farmed fish to the sea,” WWF Norway’s secretary general, Rasmus Hansson told IntraFish.
He said he's not primarily focused on reduced production.
IntraFish: What will be your most important issue in regard to marine farming in 2010?
Rasmus Hansson: A complete halt to growth! We will campaign for bigger marine farming-free zones and aim to make sure all salmon fjords are emptied of fish farms. The government’s sustainability strategy which comes into force from April this year promises that concrete sustainability indicators will be in place that show what is an acceptable level of impact on the environment as caused by the industry.
