In the second installment of an exclusive Q&A with IntraFish, WWF Norway’s secretary general, Rasmus Hansson, said his organization looks for ways to work with the aquaculture industry.
IntraFish: Who finances your organization’s anti-aquaculture campaigns?
Rasmus Hansson: WWF does not have any anti-aquaculture campaigns. We place emphasis on being correctly knowledgeable and constructive. WWF on a global basis is in dialogue with various players with the aim of achieving environmental standards in the industry.
In Norway, we have among other things chosen to cooperate with the world’s biggest aquaculture company, Marine Harvest, in order to influence the company’s operation in a more environmentally friendly direction.
