In a letter to Norway's fisheries minister, Helga Pedersen, executives of WWF in Europe said they are worried Norway stepped outside the agreed upon management framework.
“We regard this as a setback for long-term fisheries management for all of Europe. This has weakened Norway’s reputation as an administrator,” said WWF.
WWF said the organization often uses Norway as an example in its efforts to pressure other countries to introduce a ban on casting fish overboard, enforced use of selection equipment and closing of fishing areas.
The
