The chefs were competing on who made the best dish from scallop and coalfish. "This victory represents a milestone for the Norwegian scallop industry and the scallop farmers can expect a real breakthrough in the next three years," Mr Tron Kjønnø of the shellfish producer NORSHELL, in Trondheim, told Seafarm Business Review.
The Norwegian scallop farming business is still at an early stage, but after having solved the juvenile and broodstock problems, it is expected that a boom in production should occur from 2002 onwards.
