Eastern Fisheries, the largest supplier of scallops in the world, found consumer attention to traceability stronger than ever this year, and that meant growth for the fully integrated company.

“The consumer has become a little more educated and wants a little more information about where their seafood products are coming from and how direct they are to the source,” Vice President of Domestic Sales Paul Joly told IntraFish.

As the year draws to a close, the company’s sales for 2011 to date are up 7 to 8 percent over last year for finfish and scallops, Joly said.
