While starting out with a replacement for fishmeal is a good entry into the aquaculture sector, US Biotech firm Calysta has no intention of stopping there, Josh Silverman, chief product and innovation officer and founder of the company, told IntraFish.

The company has figured out a way to successfully harness the pollutant and greenhouse gas methane and convert it into useful products, such as plastics, petroleum replacements, and now fish feed, giving Calysta the potential to make a huge impact on a sector eager for alternatives too fishmeal.

“We
