Whole Foods Market's Global Seafood Quality Standards Coordinator Carrie Brownstein will head up an incredible list of speakers at IntraFish's inaugural Women in Seafood Leadership Summit, to be held in downtown Seattle on June 6.

Brownstein, who has worked in the seafood industry for more than 17 years, will speak about her role at Whole Foods and her passion for the industry as part of the event, which aims to highlight the fantastic leadership roles the seafood industry offers, as well as the challenges of recruiting more women into the sector.

With a long history in the seafood industry, starting with her great grandfather who ran a fish stall and later began a family seafood business, Brownstein has a unique background in marine biology, NGO work and consultancy.

The IntraFish summit, ran with the support of Trident Seafoods and the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute (ASMI), will convene more than 100 global seafood leaders to help create a network of female leaders in the industry and to have a frank and honest discussions about why more women aren't coming into the industry.
