In 2005, Aker Seafoods was created from the merger of Norway Seafoods, West Fish-Aarsaether and Nordic Sea Holding.
Now six years later, the company is spinning off all its value-added processing activities into a new company called Norway Seafoods.
Very soon Norway Seafoods will no longer be a subsidiary of Aker Seafoods.
The fishing segment and value-added processing segment will therefore soon become separated from each other -- although they will have the same owners to start with at least.
