Swedish furniture giant Ikea made a splash this week, announcing its commitment to source 100 percent of the fish and seafood sold at its global outlets from sustainable resources.
All 23 species sold at its 375 shops in 47 markets worldwide will be coming from Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) certified fisheries or Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) certified farms, serving 600 million customers.
In some markets, such as Turkey, Thailand and the Middle East, this will be the first time certified seafood has been put on sale.
