Keasbey, New Jersey-based supermarket chain ShopRite announced last week a new line of frozen shrimp to its premium ShopRite private label brand.
The product is preservative- and antibiotic-free. It also achieved the highest Global Aquaculture Alliance (GAA) Best Aquaculture Pracitices (BAP) rating -- four stars -- which means it can trace the shrimp back to its farm.
The new shrimp product comes in cooked and raw frozen varieties. The cooked variety is cooked in shell and peeled afterwards. Sea salt is the only added ingredient.
