The son of Cumbrian Seafoods founder Peter Vassallo has stepped down from his position on the board of the company’s parent, as the owners of the company are seeking a buyer for the struggling group.

Michael Vassallo, who was appointed as a director of Cumbrian Holdings -- the parent company of the for sale retail seafood supplier -- on Nov. 30, 2010, saw his position as a director terminated on Nov. 9, 2011, according to the U.K. company’s registry.

Vassallo, who lists himself as an “investment specialist” on his LinkedIn profile page, described his non-executive director role at Cumbrian as being focused on advising “on corporate strategy, finance, customer relationships and recruitment, working closely with the board and senior management.”
