Demand for shrimp in the US is slow and there is potential for oversupply later in the year, depending on harvests in Asia, said North American buyers.
There is potential for oversupply this year, said the purchasing director of a large North American seafood company.
“Like any other crop, we just won't know until all the main harvests from China, Vietnam, India and Latin America,” he told IntraFish.
“Indonesia and, of course, Thailand are up. Shrimp prices are up and that encourages more farmers to stock now.
