The Seville, Spain-based firm -- which won the best foodservice product at the Seafood Prix d'Elite awards for its crawfish skewers -- started selling into the United States 10 years ago, Managing Director Erwin Alderlieste told IntraFish.

Demand for Spanish crawfish in the United States increases year-on-year, said Alderlieste, adding: “There is not enough extra product for us to go out and grown the market,” said Jennifer Champagne of Piazza’s Seafood World, one of Alfocan’s two customers in the United States."
