Consumers in the United States are not only open to the idea farmed salmon is sustainable, data from market research firm the Perishables Group indicates a majority of them view it as more sustainable than wild salmon.

According to the survey, 57 percent of US consumers rated farmed salmon as either a good or best choice in terms of sustainability, while far less – 44 percent – of them rated wild salmon as a good or best choice for sustainability. The survey of 1,053 consumers was conducted over the Internet.
