US buyers imported 8 percent more salmon in the first 11 months of 2015 compared with 2014 -- but the value of imports keeps dropping, with Chile struggling to get premiums on their fish, according to the latest statistics from the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS).
The United States imported 313,419 metric tons of salmon worth $2.49 billion (€2.3 billion), a 7 percent drop in value, year-on-year.
