Cumbrian Seafoods, which has lost a large chunk of its pangasius business this year after recalls from some of the United Kingdom’s largest retailers, is being offered for sale by KPMG, according to a teaser sent out by the financial services firm seen by IntraFish.

Although listed on the teaser document as Project Welford, several sources confirmed Cumbrian is the company in question.

“KPMG’s advisory practice has been appointed to advise this seafood business and, as well as considering the other options available, the business is being marketed for sale,” reads the teaser.
