Industrial Pesquera Santa Priscila S.A. (IPSP) achieved the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) certification, making it one of the first shrimp farms in Ecuador to carry the ASC label, which touts sustainable shrimp production and ethical social conditions

Santa Elena, Ecuador-based Chanduy farm was visited by two Control Union Peru SAC certification auditors at the end of last year.

Chanduy produces for Vermont-based distributor Tropical Aquaculture Products' Blue Foot White Shrimp brand.

Two other IPSP processing plants were also audited to verify compliance to the Marine Stewardship Council's (MSC) Chain of Custody Standard, which allows for ASC-certified seafood to be traced back to its source.
