“But you have to deduct for instance the need to lay sites fallow in periods," he said. "This year possibly 1.2 million metric tons salmon and trout will be harvested in Norway.
"That would result in utilization of existing farm sites of around 60 percent," he said. "I estimate Norwegian producers could increase production by around 40 percent at existing farm sites.”
