After successfully completing test operations on Togiak herring carcasses this spring, Trident Seafoods will start running its new $22 million (€19.7 million) fish meal and fish oil production facility in Bristol Bay at full capacity from July.
Trident’s goal is to utilize all of the byproducts produced by its Naknek salmon plant this summer.
The first such operation in Bristol Bay, the new plant will take what used to be considered “fish waste” from Trident’s primary processing operation and turn it into fish oil and fishmeal products for aquaculture and pet feeds.
