One of the largest tuna suppliers in the world may be in the market for Bumble Bee Foods, but top executives from the group remain cautious in their statements about how serious they are in the North American canned seafood giant.
Renato Curto, chairman of Washington-based Tri Marine, told IntraFish his company is "interested just like everyone else is," in private equity group Lion Capital's reported efforts to sell Bumble Bee, but declined to comment on whether or not either Tri Marine or minority shareholder Bolton Group, one of the largest branded tuna companies in Europe, had or will make an offer.
