A top executive at newly-merged Spanish frozen firm has been ousted, as the fishing and processing company’s CEO reshuffles.

Jose Manuel Gomez, general manager of Grupo Profand -- a company created from the merger of Spanish fishing company Fandinio and frozen processor Promar -- has left the company.

“General Manager Jose Manuel Gomez has left Grupo Profand this week,” the company’s export manager, Javier Rodriguez, told IntraFish.

"Internal reasons" are the cause of Gomez's departure, said Profand CEO Enrique Garcia.

Gomez was the general manager of Fandinio, before the fishing company was merged with Promar, a processor which has a large contract to supply Mercadona, Spain's largest supermarket chain in store numbers.
