We are actively looking for more seafood investments for the future, Managing Partner Stephen Rossi told IntraFish on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, the firm completed the simultaneous acquisition of Tomich Brothers Fish Company and Standard Seafood. Rossi declined to divulge how much his firm invested.
“To my knowledge, this is the first private equity investment in the California pelagic industry," he said, adding more consolidation in the sector is expected.
The investment, he said, was spurred by recognition of the growing demand for seafood globally, particularly in Asia.
