“Tomboy will be a fully-owned subsidiary of Skretting,” Knut Nesse, who heads Skretting as Executive Vice President of aquaculture at Nutreco, told IntraFish.
The acquisition of Tomboy, announced on July 1, expands Skretting’s reach to 15 countries.
Founded by three foreign investors in 2001, Tomboy owns two plants that produce a range of marine feeds with a focus on shrimp.
It produced around 30 metric tons of shrimp feed in 2009, making it the country’s fourth largest fish feed player, albeit far behind the market leaders Charoen Pokphand (CP Group) and Uni President.
