It can take many evil forms in corporate board rooms as a plural noun ("synergies"), a verb ("synergize"), an adjective ("syngergistic"), an adverb ("synergistically") and even a proper noun (yes, I'm talking to you, Synergy Seafood).
I didn't count the number of times the word "synergy" was used in the last two weeks' whirlwind of acquisitions, but the word came up a lot. Search any public company's annual report, and you'll see that "synergy" is one of the favorite catch-words when it comes to mergers, particularly big ones.
