Canned food giants Thai Union and Princes have joined forces to launch the Pole and Line Tuna Fishery Improvement Project (FIP) in Senegal, in cooperation with WWF-UK and other stakeholders.

The project involves 10 pole-and-line tuna fishing vessels from Dakar and aims to drive their practices towards Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) certification by assessing and improving fish stock health, environmental impact, and fishery management.

The FIP covers skipjack, yellowfin, and bigeye tuna.
