Bangkok stock exchange-listed Thai Union -- which acquired MW Brands in July, 2010 for €680 million ($886 million) -- is expanding the company’s portfolio of brands into new markets, such as Germany, the Scandinavian countries, Russia and Africa, Thiraphong Chansiri, company president, told IntraFish.
“At the moment, MW Brands is very strong in five main markets. The United Kingdom, Ireland and the Netherlands, with John West; France, with Petit Navire and Hyacinthe Parmentier; and Italy, with Mareblu,” said Chansiri.
The company plans to use John West in Germany, Russia and the Scandinavian countries and English speaking African countries and use Petit Navire in the French speaking countries in Africa, such as Morocco and Algeria.
