Thai Union Frozen Frozen Products said Thursday it expects this year's net profit to fall short of last year's due to the impact of the early mortality syndrome (EMS) disease, reported Reuters.

"We may not register any net profit growth this year because of widespread shrimp disease," Thiraphong Chansiri, president of the company, said at a news briefing.

The company maintained its sales target of $4 billion for the full year.
