Thailand’s Shrimp Health Resources Improvement project (SHRImp) chose Canadian tech company XpertSea as a tool to help mitigate disease outbreaks at shrimp farms in the region.

The project, managed by the Sustainable Fisheries Project (SFP) in collaboration with IDH, the Sustainable Trade initiative, aims to improve health and farm management practices.

The Aqua-Spark backed tech company XpertSea offers a tool that automatically captures shrimp size and weight using artificial intelligence and computer vision to prevent disease outbreaks.

Around 150 farmers in Thai provinces are subscribed to the pilot version that focuses on field validation.
