Almost all the shrimp consumed in Taiwan is farmed in Vietnam. And while the majority of Taiwanese seafood output comes from wild fisheries, there's potential for an aquaculture industry to develop in the country.
Stenly Yonardi, from the Taiwan International Fisheries and Seafood show, was at the Thaifex fair recruiting visitors and exhibitors for this year’s event, which will be held on Nov. 9-11. The event in part hopes to “educate the industry on aquaculture” in order to shift production from fishing to fish farming.
