Arkhangelsk Trawl Fleet's (ATF's) recently signed cooperation with World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Russia is another milestone toward more sustainable whitefish fisheries in Russia's waters, but it won't likely be the last.
In fact more commitments are already in the pipeline, with green group now in "preliminary negotiations" with cod and haddock fishing group Eurofish, as well as Murmansk-based Union of fishermen of the north, Konstantin Zgurovsky, head of marine program at WWF Russia, told IntraFish.
"We hope that other fishing groups will follow," he said.
